Description: Western Regional Chapter of Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) has elected a new executive committee on July 18, 2008. Apart from the posts of 1st vice-president and 2nd vice-president, other members of the committee were elected unopposed. The committee has Mr. Basanta Raj Dawadi of Sunrise Trekking & Expedition as president, Mr. Sanjiv Thapa, Immediate Past President, Mr. Som Bahadur Thapa of Trek & Climb Adventure as 1st vice-president, Mr. Hira Bahadur K.C of Sisne Rover Trekking as 2nd vice-president, Mr. Purushottam Pahari of Jomsom Treks & Expedition as general secretary, Mr. Devidas Shrestha of Eastern Light Trek as Joint-Secretary and Mr. Narayan Prasad Sapkota of Ridge Trail Trekking as Treasurer. Similarly, Pasang Gyalzen Sherpa of Himalayan Journeys, Mr. Dharmendra Kumar Bataju of Hill’s Way Treks, Mr. Naresh Bhattarai of Tilicho Treks & Expidition, Mr. Bhoj K. Shrestha of Down In Nepal Adventurer, Mr. Bishwo Raj Pokharel of Cosmic Trekking & Expedition, Mr. Dharma Raj Thapa of Harmony Trekking and Mr. Ram Chandra Sharma of Blue Planet Trekking are the members in the new executive committee. The tenure of the new executive committee is two years. Newly nomitated president, Basanta Duwadi, said he and the new executive committee of TAAN Pokhara Chapter would work to sort out problems plaguing the trekking industry in Pokhara. (Source:TAAN)
